This is the 2nd time I have painted this miniature. As before, I've painted her as a half-sea elven bladesinger, one of my longest-lasting and favorite online MUD characters. I was inspired to give her an updated paint job by olliekickflip on the Reapermini forum, because he posted a very cool and informative work in progress thread for a water base he did for one of his miniatures projects. I've always wanted to try the carved-out resin bases, but had never had the tools and steps explained to me before, so thanks very much to olliekickflip!

This project was stalled for several weeks by my frustration with the water base, which I had a very hard time getting smooth on the sides. Luckily, the glossy finish is VERY forgiving under the lights of the photography (a rare occurance!), so the base at least looks much nicer in the pictures than held close in person.. ;) In the interim, I had forgotten exactly what I had mixed together to do Suli's flesh, so I had to repaint her flesh (I had gotten a bit messy in spots and only needed minor touchups, but since I couldn't get the mix right, I had to start over!). The flesh turned out much smoother than I expected, given the set back - so I'm very pleased with that!
